Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Exercise and promote safety
  • Prioritize work assignments
  • Understand responsibilities of team roles
  • Train employees
  • Track attendance
  • Complete quarterly performance evaluations
  • Control overtime
  • Review timecards weekly
  • Balance workload for employees
  • Communicate goals to employees
  • Discipline employees as needed
  • Conduct daily Toolbox Talks
  • Complete Personnel Change Form for employees who transfer, are promoted, etc.
  • Complete termination paperwork as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education:  HS Diploma or GED
  • Minimum Experience:  6 months’ minimum experience
  • Certifications Required:  Crane certification; Forklift certification; Lock-out/Tag-out certification; Pallet jack certification (certifications completed during new hire orientation)

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Leadership Skills:  Promote safety as a core value; understand leadership role for Safety culture and that others will model their sentiment, attitudes and actions; understand the need to demonstrate a hyper level of safety conscientiousness and obsessiveness
  • Decision-making Skills:  Think in terms of what is best for the business and customer when making decisions that may affect areas outside of immediate influence
  • Computer Skills:  Possess understanding of Microsoft Excel and pivot tables and know how to use them to generate reports
  • Communication Skills:  Able to effectively listen and communicate ideas and thoughts to others; able to write reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals; able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and departmental personnel
  • Mathematical Skills:  Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; able to calculate fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions
  • Reasoning Skills:  Able solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Physical Abilities:  Regularly required to stand, walk and use hands; must be able to lift 50 pounds at any time during his/her shift; the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
